OUR OFFICE TEAM

David Goldberg
Owner and Director

Recognized as one of the world's leading authorities on voice over, he mumbles, ”Although I never had the voice for it, I guess my ears work pretty well.”

Evidently so. David’s ears are considered the best in the industry and he is one of the most active voice-over producers, instructors, and speakers in the country. He began Edge Studio in 1988 and with three locations now, has produced thousands of voice over productions nationally and internationally.

His background is unique:
David began his career producing, directing and engineering music artists ranging from Mel Torme and John Mayer, to Deep Purple and Jose Feliciano. At the request of his professional voice over clients, he began offering voice over training sessions in 1991, and in 1992 developed and copyrighted the first version of the “Voice Over Industry Guidebook” for voice talent.

With a passion for teaching and producing, Edge Studio transformed in 2000 to exclusively produce, cast, and train voice over.

Voice talent rely on David's perceptive ability to help them find their full potential – they benefit from his straight-forwardness, detailed production, and acute ear. Clients and agents also rely on his ability to pinpoint the right voice talent for their production.

He has produced and engineered for renowned clients such as Cosmopolitan, Nickelodeon, AOL, Duracell, Disney, Gatorade, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Special Olympics, Celebrity Cruise Lines, Gillette, Fila, Pixar, Prudential, DaimlerChrysler, The United Nations, Lucent Technology, GE Corporation, Pitney Bowes, IBM, The US Postal Service, Scholastic, The U.S. Army, Microsoft, Earthlink, and many others.

He has trained media personalities from National Public Radio, Associated Press, ESPN, Discovery, Lifetime, and countless radio stations including CBS and Bloomberg Radio.

Celebrity talent produced at Edge Studio include Mel Brooks, Joan Rivers, Phil Donahue, Kate Jackson, Eartha Kitt, Geoffrey Holder, Denise Austin, Lisa Loeb, over 35 Broadway leading actors, over 40 leading television actors.

Today, David works with voice talent as both private instructor and producer. And Edge Studio remains one of the most acclaimed voice over facilities in the country, offering production, casting, and career building.

Morgan Paradis
Office Manager and The Books

Morgan Paradis came to New York from Winnipeg, Canada, where she was a full time Anthropology student, a co-owner of a vegan restaurant, and a guitarist and vocalist in up to three bands at the same time! Strangely enough, life has slowed down a little bit since moving to the big city. Morgan is very excited to be using her small business experience as a part of the Edge Studio crew.

Morgan’s recording and performing experience is on the musical side of things. She has recorded several times with her music projects, and all of those sessions have been released on old fashioned vinyl records; she’s also a vinyl collector. She’s done quite a bit of touring in support of her music releases and loves being on the road.

Morgan’s plans for the future in New York include staying busy at Edge, writing and performing with her husband in their guitar and drum duo, and only getting a little bit lost on the subway.

Lara Hirner
Career Building Manager

a degree in Music and Women Studies. She trained and produced her
voice over demos with Edge in 2004 and has been actively working ever
since! She has recorded audiobooks for Disney, the Smithsonian
Institute, and Random House and is currently represented by Access
Talent for commercial work. Lara also performs frequently as the
soprano soloist for the Mark Morris Dance Group and the New York City
Ballet, is a member of the Marble Collegiate Sanctuary choir, and has
performed in Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, NY City Center, Saratoga
SPAC, London and Paris.

Catherine (Cathy) Mancuso
Career Building Assistant

Catherine Mancuso is a Brooklyn native. Aside from four years at SUNY New Paltz (where she earned her BA in Theater), nine months as an intern at Playhouse Merced in California, and three months on tour with National Theater for Arts and Education, she's lived there her whole life.

She has often been told that she would be great for voiceovers (although she hopes that isn't a negative comment on her appearance) and is currently preparing to record her narration demo.

Since graduating college, she has split her time between performing (both film and theater) and being a production assistant (most recently on Broadway's August: Osage County). She is super organized (sometimes overly so) and loves helping other actors and voice talent get organized. So when Edge needed another pair of hands (and ears), we knew exactly who to call. Cathy is thrilled to be part of the Edge team
.

Sara Guttman
Production and Casting Manager

Sara moved to New York City in September of 2007 after four years in Aspen, Colorado. She packed away her snowboard and bought her first unlimited metrocard. Sara is originally from Tallahassee and graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in English Language and Literature. As a Program Director at a Colorado radio station, she hosted a daily air shift, and at times lent a helping hand to every department ...producing commercials, writing copy, and engineering. Yes, she has been to the mountaintop and seen a radio transmitter site.

She currently is a part-time DJ on SIRIUS XM Satellite Radio, records commercial and narration voice overs, as well as promos for Martha Stewart Living Radio. She is excited to now be in New York City, ensconced in the world of voice overs and a part of the team at Edge.

Kendra Baker
Production and Casting Assistant

Born and raised near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kendra Baker is a product of WVU where she majored in Communications. Kendra began her career working for several web-based companies where she gained considerable experience and knowledge about the business world, the internet world and technology... while utilizing her communications skills.
